Making Change at Work: Not taking ‘no’ for an answer

The blog Newly Corporate has a great post on how Y workers can sell their ideas up management channels.

So how do we deal with the frustrating bureaucracy of big corporations? We have to sell change, and not just any change, it has to be emergent change from within because most of us don’t have the authority yet to drive change from the top down.

I’ve never worked for a big company. And, frankly, the idea is not at all appealing to me. But I have noticed a lot of cynicism coming from my peers when it comes to really making a difference at their work — they can’t change anything unless they’re a “senior employee”, which means staying in the same place for upwards of a decade. Which, for us, is entirely unfathomable.

Tips like this give some structure to how change can happen.
