I am thankful to say that I work for an organization that is truly "going green" by allowing most of us to tele-work a few days a week. Getting out or should I say breaking free of the strict 9-5 office culture has been the best thing that ever happened to my career as far as creativity is concerned. I am much less stressed, more productive and a nicer person to boot since I began to tele-work. I am passionate about helping the environment in any way that I can and wish more companies would look to alternative work solutions. Great post.

Saving the environment . . .good point. Other advantages include decreased facility overhead for the companies, and of course decreased costs for the employees themselves. Can be good for the family life too.

There are some great articles out there regarding the benefits of telecommuting. Offices are very inefficient, and use way more energy than telecommuting would yield

Some of the financial and environmental benefits are outlined here
