		<description>I&#039;m gonna have to disagree with you here, Matt. At our company, I think the employees would be aghast if the management went ahead with a big holiday shindig. 

For one thing, it&#039;s hard to celebrate when you&#039;ve just lost your coworkers to layoffs. Second, I think there would be some general disgust with a management who is willing to throw a party when your industry is being brought to its knees. Finally, I&#039;d rather not see money thrown away on a Turducken &amp; open bar when you&#039;ve just told me that a salary freeze will be effective starting now for the entire year of 2009.
