Like when the phone companies turned over all out data to the government... if my phone is tracking my every move... and the government wants the records... do they just hand them over? So Big Brother can see my every move.

I am definitely NOT comfortable with that - not at all.

And even if I turn it off on my phone... since they have Push technology I can imagine they could just override that for their own purposes.

I think there needs to be more of a security and privacy commitment on the vendor side for me to be comfortable with this.

Just to clarify, if an employer gives you a phone and tells you it can be tracked, that is one thing - like giving you email and reminding you it is not private. I would not be thrilled but if it is a condition of employment and I am aware of that condition, then I can choose to accept or decline the employment.

Where I am more concerned about is other uses of this type of technology that could arise!

I was very concerned when I heard about this feature - it's so Big Brother. I really do not like the idea of the tracking especially when combined with the pushing.

I am mostly concerned about being tracked without my knowledge in ways that are concealed or surreptitious - this technology just leaves it wide open for that to happen - and for the individual to not really have control over it.

I am so concerned that I am seriously considering NOT getting the new iPhone and sticking with my old one.
